How to become a KRNA

This is a Higher Diploma level training program accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya. The training takes 18 months and training is open to both Diploma and BSc. Nursing holders. Currently, the training is provided by KMTC and Kijabe College of Health Sciences. 

Who is it for?

The course is aimed at nurses with at least two years experience interested in growing a career as an anesthesia provider. With this training, a nurse anesthetist is able to independently or under supervision provide perioperative anesthesia care including preoperative patient assessment, development and implementation of an anesthesia plan and patient monitoring during the perioperative period.

Annual Conference

Every June, the KRNA Chapter organizes a national educational conference open to all KRNAs as well as other anesthesia providers who are interested in anesthesia and critical care. This event was first held in 2011. Dates for the 2019 event are June 15-17
